  • As promised last time, my husband did something a couple weeks ago that even shocked me.

    07-09 028   07-09 029

Some of you will remember that not too long ago I had his name added to a rose tattoo on my ankle.  I never gave much detail, just stuck the picture in with a bunch of others.  I got the rose when I was 19, no significance at all, just picked it off the wall…. it always bugged me that there wasn’t any meaning to the tattoo, so I added my sweeties name.  He was pretty surprised, but not as much as I was when a few months later he announced that he was getting a tattoo, his first, and probably his last.  *lol*

tat 005.JPG   I know you can’t see the rose in this pic but I just don’t feel like taking another pic.

    In other news…..

We’ve been celebrating Savannah’s birthday for almost a week now, can you believe she’ll be 5 in just about a week.  Last Friday night we took her to Dora Live downtown at the Majestic, some of you may remember how much fun she had at Backyardigans last year   she enjoyed this that much, maybe more.

Saturday she and I went to the mall to have her ears pierced, she was such a big girl, didn’t cry at all.  We picked her birthstone, which we share, my b-day is 3 days before hers   She was so excited that we “matched”

We’re planning a luau pool party on Saturday, Tony will be home from Houston and we’re having a couple kids over to swim.  She’s very excited, this is her first b-day party with other kids, she helped me spend too much money at the party store on Monday  *lol*  I justified that with dh by explaining that we could use the majority of the stuff again and again

  • Stick a fork in me….. I’m done!!

Surprised my Mom today, spent 3 hours at her house while she was at work, cleaned her house from top to bottom.  She called my cell a couple times while I was at her house but had no idea I was there, think she was pretty excited to walk into a nice clean house.  She’s working full time and going to school 3 nights a week and she still watches the kids for us at least once a month, I may start doing it every Monday.  Her house is small, so I’m pretty sure I could clean the whole thing in about an hour, took me a little longer today but I spent extra time on her bathroom floor.

Other than that….. we had a slow 1st day back with homeschooling, slow but still a good day.  I cleaned here a bit, watered my grass and now I’m pooped.  Think I’ll take some sleep aid and watch a little tv.

Hubby has an appointment tomorrow, something very out of character for him, people will be shocked.  I’ll share more next time   Have a great night xanga friends.

  • Just a few pictures so you don’t totally forget who I am  and so you don’t think I’ve been totally slackin *lol*

Some projects I’ve worked on this summer….

The pool, I opened a can of “what the heck was I thinking” with this one!  Been working on it for 2 weeks and might finish before the end of the swimming season.  I’m cleaning years of hard water stains (some of this was here when we moved in almost 11 years ago) with a straight razor!  Yes a razor, the kind you use to take paint off windows and such.  Just hit me one day that it would work and the rest is insane history.

If you can’t tell where I started and stopped, well then please don’t tell me *lol*  Trust me it’s making a huge difference.  I also added the umbrellas this year, 90% off last year, paid $1.24 a piece for them.  Hubby is a “pastie white boy”   and they provide just enough shad that he can swim with us without burning, well at least at certain times of the day.  I also just bought 2 great tables to go between my chairs this weekend at a yard sale, paid $5 a piece for them still with the $30 Dillards sticker. I’ll get a pic of those later.

  • Is it just me, or is xanga dead lately??

I know lots of people have moved over to facebook, but facebooks not really a blog.  I do tend to get more “interaction” with people on facebook though.  Anyway, I paid for lifetime so I’m still here

Fred started his vacation today, he’s off for the next 10 days   Instead of a big vacation like last year, we’re enjoying a “stacation”, just chilaxin around the house, swimming in the pool, maybe a visit or 2 to Sea World later next week.  We bought the 2 year season passes again, it’s just SO very hot in S. Texas right now.  Hot like 104 kind of HOT.  We thought about a day trip or maybe even overnight to the beach but the kids and I did that while Fred was visiting his Dad in IN. Anyway, we decided on the “stacation” and so far I’m enjoying just me and my family relaxin’ at home, we’ll see what next week brings.

Today we hung out in the pool, ate dinner at our favorite Mexican spot and then dropped by my Mom’s for a bit.  I’m pretty tired, it’s 1am, I’m sure we’ll sleep late tomorrow but that’s what’s good about the “stacation”, no itinerary. *lol*  Hope all my xanga friends have a wonderful 4th.

  • Congrats to my Sweet Boy and His #1 Daddy!

Trey’s Fathers Day essay was published in one of the San Antonio monthly publications.  Only 6 essays were published, on July 12th three winners will be chosen.  It was supposed to be a Fathers Day surprise but neither of us could keep the secret when we found out it had been published

My little homeschooler is a Published Writer!

  • I’m Thankful today…..

that after 16 years I can still sit and talk to my husband for over an hour and a half while he waits for his flight home.  I can’t wait to see him and I can hear in his voice that he’s just as excited to be coming home.

  • Too much summer fun…..

We came back a day early, too much fun and SUN the first couple days.   Fred is visiting his Dad in Indy but he hooked the kids and I up with a room at the Omni Bayfront before he left.  We dropped him at the airport on Sunday then drove 2 hours to Corpus.  We had a great time but it was good to sleep in my own bed last night.  Fred will be home tomorrow, looking forward to picking him up <3
