  • New Day....

New Attitude!   In the light of a new morning after a night of much reflection I'm trying hard to change my attitude.  I take back what I said last night, I just can't be "ashamed" of my country, disappointed yes, but not ashamed.  I wont lie and say that overnight I was transformed, I do still have fear and reservation about the direction our country is headed but things are what they are.  Our next President is Obama, I will pray for him just as I prayed for President Bush.

I feel very little control over what happens outside my home but I Thank God I live in a country where I do have control over what happens inside my home.  There are many things on many levels that we intend to change in our home, from what we watch on TV to who and what we expose our children too.  Fred and I talked until the early hours of morning about far more than politics, maybe we were trying to make each  other feel better  whatever the reason it was a good talk.

I'm praying for our Country, I'm praying for our new President, I'm praying for my family.  I'm going to go out of my way to pray, I'm going to go out of my way to make our home a refuge, these are the things I have control over, no more no less.

  • I appreciate your attitude. :)

  • I agree. It wasnt what I wanted to happen but , as in all things, God wanted it this way. He my president, it my country and I choose to be hopeful.
    xo, QE

  • Well, looks like the jig is up you found out my age. Whatever shall I do now?

Too bad for you it really makes no difference how old I am. I am fairly sure that my experience working, that means having a job, not volunteering, with the Democratic Party here in Illinois far outweighs whatever you think you might know about Barack from radical blogers and TV news reporters.

  • @sarahb_86 - Ok sweetie, I just posted about how I'm trying to change my attitude this morning, help me out.    Your young, you have lots to learn, I teach my own children at home, sorry I just don't have the patience to teach another child right now.  We'll agree to disagree and leave it at that, you have a great day

  • Yup, we still have control of our own lives and what we choose to fill them with.  There are far more things to worry about!

I know there are people in the demo'rat party that are nice and sweet.  Thankfully they aren't ALL like sarahb_86!  LOL!!!  God help us if they are!

  • @homeschoolingthem - Yeah I might be young and have my whole life ahead of me but so what? It is better to be young and learn from the experiences I have had, trust me they are numerous, then to be old and not have learned a damn thing.

@farmerswife -  Strangely enough I was about to say the same to you....it would have been a lie, but still.

  • @sarahb_86 - I tried to be nice, but like I said, I don't have time to teach another child.  I wont respond to any more comments and I'll block you the next time I see you here.  You've been here hovering for over an hour, go play.

  • delete and block gotta love those buttons, on with the day

  • LOL!!!!  I bet she was a peach in high school!

Was she ridiculing us for stay home and not having jobs, or that we are "old"?

  • @farmerswife - I gotta think it's cause we're so old   Gotta go put my teeth back in and find my cane *lol*

  • Glad you've found a new attitude. I'm still ashamed today...sorry. LOVE the posts on the young un' that was taunting. TOO funny.

  • @toomanyhats - I haven't totally found it yet, still looking hard for it though.    I told my husband the last time I felt this way was after 9-11, minus the death.  I can't let myself go back to that dark place, kwim?  I just have to do what I can, I'm working on my Chirtmas decorations, I do it big around here, never this early but earlier than most.  I just want to cling to the ones I love and pray real hard.  whatever gets us threw this right?

  • oh yes I agree....life goes on and God has a plan! Some things just have to come to pass....both good and bad!

  • I have actually enjoyed reading the comments on this post!  :)   That young liberal chick made me laugh.  Funny though, there seems to be a lot of liberal bloggers with the sarahb title.

WEll, I think today is the day that I have come to face the fact that we are going to have this man in office soon.  Whatever, God is still in control and this means no more complacancy (SP?) for us Christians.  I find it funny how the news and reporters are FINALLY questioning who Obama really is...they are a little late.

    bless you and keep praying

  • We're bombarded with news about the American presidential election in Australia too.

I think that all of this is a part of God's will and the best everyone can do is put our faith in Him and pray for the president to act in His wisdom. Faith can move mountains.
